Forests make up much of Sweet Briar College’s beautiful campus, and the College has been recognized for our commitment to forest stewardship. A special area on campus is the Constitution Oaks Sanctuary, which protects more than 90 white oaks over 200 years old, and almost three dozen older than 300 years. This forest was already flourishing when the United States Constitution was written in 1787. Crafted from the grapes we planted in 2019 as part of our commitment to agriculture and sustainability, this smooth cabernet sauvignon wine celebrates both the long history and future of land and forest stewardship at Sweet Briar College.
